I am not sure about these price comparisons in this case. Is the 27p for dealing with an online query – or a cost per visit to the website?
I wonder whether Socitm’s Channel Value Benchmarking Service (which is where these statistics come from) ought to start including social media!

Calling is indeed best as I’ve seen Socitm sourced numbers which say dealing with an email is about the same as face-to-face. (From discussion about Fix-my-street)
