Hey Stu – thanks for the link!

I think this is an ace idea! Something that could be reused across local authorities in the UK to help as both a “get started” tool and an ongoing management application would maybe help some authorities to jump on the SocMed wagon.

As it sounds like something Michele has put some thought into it would be excellent to do a round table at the camp!

It’s been a long time since I’ve done any “hardcore” coding but I’m certainly looking for a project to get my teeth into, time allowing!

@ Caspar – Yeah, I’ve heard about Cotweet – I’ve yet to check it out though – would be nice if local authorities could have their own platform though, so then it can be tailored as we go along – adding other features for other social networks would be great too.

@ Rollo – Yup, I know Carl quite well, hopefully this will be able to fit in with the work he’s doing with IDeA Knowledge Hub

At Cambridgeshire we’re just about to start a project to define a ‘framework’ for social media use in the organisation. It will include guidelines and tools for services to use social media for engagement.

I was planning we would put together some form of ‘toolkit’ for services. It should include a suite of monitoring/managing tools e.g. access to a basic Netvibes page they can configure to gather information about what people are saying about their services, e.g. in a particular locality.

I’m also keen to use the new site that Learning Pool are going to be developing for the IDeA (WorkTogether) to share this stuff with other authorities. Are you going to Lincolnlocalgov? Would be interesting to do something on this.

Cotweet does much of what you want. Only bit it doesn’t do is follower management but I do this using Tweetlater (or whatever it’s called now) but it does most of the other bits!

Excellent post – i use hootsuite and this is exactly the type of management tool with workflow that is needed.

Agree that something like this could be useful. Would like to see multiple account management and one-to-many publishing across accounts and platforms.
